Shaoxing - Chinses Venice

Shaoxing, much like Venice, is a water-filled city with numerous small rivers. However, the source of this water remains unknown. In Shaoxing, there are no high mountains, and the water is believed to come from underground, adding to the mysterious nature of its origin.
Despite being a large city, Shaoxing is surrounded by a river of pristine water. The cleanliness of the water is remarkable, yet its source remains a mystery. In the previous century, these small rivers played a crucial role in transportation within the city.
One notable river in Shaoxing is the Jianhu River, known for its remarkably clear water that allows one to see the riverbed with clarity.
Shaoxing harnesses the power of this water to produce Chinese wine, which has gained worldwide recognition for its quality and flavor.
