Sheep Thief And Saint

Many years ago, in a village somewhere, two young men stole a sheep. As per the village's law, those found guilty of stealing a sheep were branded with an iron mark on their forehead bearing the letters "ST" which stood for "sheep thief". One of the young men stayed in the village, while the other went to study medicine at a university in the city. After graduation, he did not practice medicine in the city but returned to his own village as a doctor. He provided medical care to the villagers, free of charge, especially to the poor, and his business thrived. One day, an outsider came to the village and noticed the "ST" mark on the doctor's forehead, and asked for an explanation. The villagers replied that it was an abbreviation for "saint", as the doctor had done a lot of good for the village.
