Do Not Compare

Once upon a time, a rich man in the city bought a big piece of land in the suburbs and built a very beautiful house on it. In front of the house, there was a river with clean mountain stream water passing by every minute, creating a beautiful scenery.
Not long after, another rich man built a bigger and more beautiful house on the other side of the river. When a friend came to visit the first man, he was not happy. The friend asked him why, and he replied that he was the first person to be there, but now someone else had surpassed him.
From this we learn that comparing ourselves to others does not lead to happiness. We should be satisfied with what we have because everything cannot be the same. Of course, comparing ourselves to others can be good in some ways as it can motivate us to compete and make progress, especially in learning where comparing ourselves to others can help us gain knowledge faster. Wanting to be better than others can be a good thing.
