Human Character

The Chinese have a saying that nations can change, but character cannot. That means a country may change governments of any moment, but character never.
We can change our habits, but or character, is our own from our first day first until the day we die.
Character decides a person’s destiny. If a person likes to read to learn, to study, he can have a better future because of his knowledge.
If a person is lazy and hates to study, his chances of success are low. Uneducated people have difficulties to get opportunity in life.
Even a king will destroy his country by his character. In the Song Dynasty, there was Emperor Huizong. He liked to draw so crazily, ignoring his duty of managing his country. Gradually his country was conquered by foreigners.
What is the meaning of character? If a person likes to gamble as something important to his life, that is character. If someone likes drugs, it is also his character. Both of which will destroy his life.
