At Seventy, Forced To Die

Many centuries ago, in Japan at a certain mountain area, there was a village. How many villagers were unknown? But, the fact was the food grew there not enough to feed all the villagers in the village.
Under such circumstance, the chief of the villagers made a rule that the persons reaching seventy must go to top of the mountain to die voluntarily, by hunger and cold. Of course, many tragedies happened.
If somebody did not obey, he would be tied up and brought to the top of the mountain and be pushed down from top and died immediately.
As food was scare, if a person stole food from others, he would be buried alive. Such was the law of the village.
As whole country was poor, many men could not afford to get marriage. Therefore, when a husband of one family died, all single men can go to the widow for instant love. She could not reject.
From here, we could see that poverty was so cruel that because of poverty, nobody will obey the morality of human, doing something very extremely terrible which normal human cannot accept.
