Do Not Borrow, Nor A Lender Be

In our Chinese way, father always tells his son that you shall not borrow money, nor lending to others.
This philosophy is not only in China, it has been internationally even at four hundred years ago.
When we read the play of Shakespeare, in “Hamlet.” The Prime Minster of Denmark had a son who wanted to go France for further education. At the night before his leaving, Prime Minster told his son: “You shall not borrow money from any one, nor a lender be. If you lend money to others, it will not only money unreturned, but you will lose a friend too.”
In the human world, once you lend out money, the chance of getting back your money is only ten percent. Besides, the lender shall not appear before you anymore.
Unless the lender is your relative or your best friend. When he needs your help, you just help, forgetting the sense of borrowing. It you can have such a philosophy, both sides will be much happier. You just do something to help others when he is in difficulty.
