Mud And Stars

Many, many years ago, there was a lady in America , whose husband was an army officer. One day, her husband was assigned to station in a desert place and she followed with her husband. But, not long after, her husband was again transferred to another place, leaving her alone in the desert village where the Indians dwell.
As she could not communicate with those local people, either in language or in life style, she was so isolated and unhappy. Then she wrote a letter to her father in America. He father replied with a short story which said that there were two prisoners in prison. Looking out from window one saw only mud on the ground, but another saw bright stars in the sky. That was all what her father replied.
This lady was clever and immediate realized the meaning behind. She very soon started to associate with her neighbors and learned language from them, joining her life with them full heartedly.
After few years, she came back to America and wrote a book about her life in the desert place. This book, unexpectedly, had a very good selling among America society.
