Do Not Help Voluntarily

One early morning years ago, in one university, with very little dense raining, a professor and one student walked together in the campus of the university, discussing a subject in a book. Suddenly, they saw a woman, wearing a high-heel shoes fell to the ground. The student started to run forward to help the lady, but the professor stopped him. Instead they stopped further stroll under a tree and the professor said that if the woman was unwounded, she would get up by herself. Our help would give her an awkward feeling. If she wounded, she would call for help. Then we could go to help her.
From this example, we can learn that if other people have a little difficulty, we should not offer volunteer help. Over-warmed attitude will cause other people uncomfortable. Unless people ask help, we then assist.
But when others seek help, and if our ability permits us to do so, we should do our best to help. As Bible said: “To help other is a blessing.” Of course, we can only help those who are in an urgent need. We shall not help the daily living of poor people. Those, who are poor should find their way to get their living by hard work by themselves. As for elder people and children. Government would support them to live on.
