Try to Lower Ourselves

One Roman philosopher told his students: “If you want to reach a high place, you have to start from lower ground.” For instance, if you have worked in a big enterprise and you hope one day that you will get a senior position. In that case, you have to work very hard from a lower position. Through years of hard work your dream will be realized.
If we want to be a successful person, we will surely meet difficulty, pressure, mistakes, excitement, disappointment. All of these will happen in the course of our life.
Decades ago, a young man went to village to visit his old schoolmate whose father was a fishman. They went together to the sea to fishing. This young man asked the fishman: “Why there are so many fishes in the sea.” Fishman answered” “It is because the sea is boundless, allowing great space for fish to survive.” The student further asked: “Why the sea has so much water.” Fishman answered “The sea’s deepness is endless. It can lake any amount of water from streams of high mountains. Sea never overflows.”
This tells us that if we live a lower life, we shall be peaceful and no disaster will fall upon us.
