The Ancient Roman Colosseum

When we go to Rome today, we can see the old colosseum with many broken walls and stones scattered everywhere, telling us a past history of that place. But, in the middle century this place was a luxurious and glory building with fifty thousand audience seats. It was a colosseum that animals would fight together and human would also fight with animals. Audience looked at such cruel shows crazily, crying with fear. Heaven and hell mixed together at that moment.
At that time, Rome was administered by Emperor who, in order to minimize the dissatisfaction of his people, he built this luxurious colosseum for people to enjoy the show for the purpose of easier administration.
This animals programme would last one hundred days a year. In these one hundred days, nine thousand wild animals would be killed, and few hundred human fighters would die.
All animals, such as lion, tiger, bear, leopard, elephant would be imported from Africa, three thousand miles away from Rome. Cost of transportation was a huge figure, but people of that time would like government to spend money on this cruel game.
