In India Ganges River is a very holy river, also called river of Goddess. This river is famous to the world. In important festivals at big city, there are millions of people gathered at the side of Ganges River, sinking whole bodies under the water, wishing to have blessing from the water. This custom has been lasted for thousand years to Indian people.
The source of Ganges River is in the Himalayas. When the snow in the top of the mountain began to melt, the ice water rushed down to the Ganges River, which has a length of over a thousand miles. The water passed many deserts, villages and cities, big and small alike. Finally, the water flows to Bangladesh, then to Indian ocean, and the sea swallowed all the Ganges River’s water.
Ganges River is a holy river, when millions of people gather at the side of the river, so many strange things will happen at the side of river. For example, few thousand of men will take off all their clothes and sink their bodies under the water naked. The purpose is the get luck from Ganges River for the rest of their life.
