Lunar Years

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year, a tradition of past few thousand years. But, now all over the world adopts a calendar year to communicate between countries on the affairs internationally.
Still, especially on the Asia countries, each country celebrates their own traditional new year passed down from ancestors.
We, Chinese the same, have a Lunar Year which has been a new year from past few thousand years. In the Chinese new year day, everywhere in China celebrates in their own native way. As China is so big, different parts of China has their own custom to celebrates.
The most traditional way is to visit each other homes of friends and relations to whom they may not see each other in the year. Besides, they must say some lucky words to each other, such as to gain more wealth and enjoy good health. Children are particularly happy because they can get lucky envelopes inside of which content money.
Few foreign countries where many Chinese live, the leaders of those countries also say words of congratulation to celebrates Chinses New Year.
In the eve of the new year, China central Television station will lounge progreamme in big scale which are most attractive to the Chinese people all over the world. It is a pity that the quality of the programme is not so good as previous years.
