Cave Residents

In the present century, very few people live in caves of mountains. But, in China, in the mountains of Yunnan Guizhou, there are still people who live in the caves of high mountains.
The total numbers are about two hundred families. Though they live in the caves, they are not tribes, but they live a life at the edge of modern life.
They are the Miao Chinses, speaking Chinses language, writing Chinses characters, obeying Chinese law, enjoying Chinese benefit.
For hundreds of years, they have lived in the caves, generation after generation. In the surface, they seem to be away from modern world. But, actually they are not. By the assistant of government, they have electricity, water pipe, telephone, television of forty-eight channels.
As the mountain is too steep, government has built a stone stair-case with few thousand steps for cave people to walk up and down. That is the life of cave people today. They do not like to move down to the foot of the mountains, but rather to enjoy their life in the cave from a tradition inheriting from ancestor.
Of course, most young cave people come down to work to earn their living. Only old generation prefer to live on the cave of high mountains from their birth to death.
