To Live On

The aim of our life is actually very simple. That is to live on. There is one slang: “Better to live ugly than to die glory.” which proves that everyone desires to live.
But, to live on is not simple. We have to face so many problems, big and small alike. In our childhood, we have parents to take care of us, but when we grow up, we are not only to take care of ourselves, but we have to take responsibility of our family and many other problems as well. To live on is surely not easy.
We, Chinese, have an old saying: “Human wish to climb high, and water only goes down.” That means that we desire a better life, not a poor life.
But, in many occasions, we may fall down from a good life into a bad life against our wish out of our control.
We can see from political field that some high Government officer were very powerful yesterday, but suddenly due to some wrong commitment, they are in prison today. This person will surely be in a sad mood due to such quick change, but he will not kill himself and will struggle to live on.
Therefore, to live on is our right and desire. But we must have an idea to prepare our worst when we are at a peaceful life and stable condition.
