In recent newspaper we know that Government will control more severely on the conduct of taxi drivers. It is that recently few taxi drivers do something illegally to cheat passengers.
Since there are over ten thousand taxi drivers it is normal that some bad drivers will appear in this trade. But, to speak fairly, most drivers are good and honest.
But, taxi will have another problem in the next ten years. It will be a fact that taxi drivers will face a shortage to meet the market demand. The reason is that today’s drivers are mostly in the group of middle aged and old aged. Young generation do not like to drive taxi as their job due to low income. Therefore, when years go by, old age people will retire and there will be a shortage of drivers to drive taxi.
As a result, taxi fare will increase to attract more persons to join taxi trade. Some people who are not connected with taxi business may abandon their original job and join taxi business for higher income. Such things will happen in the next ten years to balance the supply and demand.
The world is now changing rapidly, and taxi business will also change to meet the change of the world.
