Words of famous people are not all fit to us. We have to select few good ones to guide our life. As Plato said; “Don’t force your children into your ways, for they were created for a time different from your own.”
The above words are absolutely right. Our children are more than twenty years younger than us. In the period of twenty years, many things in the world have been changed and society has been in progress as well. Therefore, it is right that the thought of our children are different from ours.
Few decades ago, only rich families can have telephones at home, but now everyone has mobile phone at hand. This is a sharp change in the period of twenty years.
In philosophy, Confucius has been the most learned person in history. He said: “By three methods we may learn wisdom. First by reflection, which is noblest. Second, by imitation which is easiest, and third by experience, which is the bitterest.
We use our brain to think about the truth of life, which is of course the best to impress in our mind. To imitate means to learn from others. It is basically right because we learn knowledge by imitation. By experience is not very good to learn. We may pay high price to get knowledge by experience.
