Rice

Since ancient time, Chinese people have depended rice as main food to survive. All Kings in the past days had responsibility to keep his people to have enough rice to eat or his kingdom would be over thrown by hungry people.
But, nowadays, due to ample supply of materials in terms of food, people begin to pay less attention in rice, thinking rice the main cause of getting fat. Especially, most young ladies, wishing to keep themselves slim, refuse to eat rice as their main food.
Actually, rice is the best of all medicine. We know that babies in the olden times, apart from mother milk, ate rice pastes to grow. If rice is not good, how can a baby grow to a child just by eating rice paste.
When we are recovering from sickness, we usually eat congee to recover our health. We also know that congee is cooked by rice.
Rice is the origin of our strength. In the former days, farmers ate rice in the breakfast to start their work in the field. Without eating rice, they had no strength to work.
When we have walked a long journey, we will surely feel tired. But, if we eat rice our fatigue shall be immediately gone. This is a true proof of the power of rice. As to how much rice we should eat, it will depend on our work. Laborer should eat more and desk worker eat less, depending on what situation we are.
