Ralph Emerson Words

1. Every man I meet is my superior in some way and in that I learn from him.
This sentence is similar to what of our Chinese Confucius said: “Among three persons two are my teachers.” That is that we learn from their virtues, not their faults.
2. Love and you shall be loved.
We always heard from someone who said; “I have no one to love me.” It is, of course, wrong. As for love, we have to love first, then we shall be loved. We cannot expect people to love us if we do not pay love to others.
3. Shallow men believe in luck and in circumstance. Strong men believe in cause and effect.
It is the human nature to most of us that we wish to have fruit without labour. It is, of course, wrong in such thinking. We must sow first, then harvest will come. Even we sow, but sometime we have no harvest because our luck is not with us.
4. Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Tomorrow is new day, begin it well and serenely with high spirit.
Every day we have new work and new problem to face, but as long as we have done our best, it is the best. Prepare another new day tomorrow.
