We, Chinese, like to use famous phrase, which has a history background, to qualify the article we write. We know in which sentence to use the phrase for a better and simple reading.
If we have started to do something and have good result already, but we wish to be better, we say: “We have already a stick of one hundred feet long, but we need longer.”
If we qualify a person who is very fast to achieve his goal either in business or in government service, we say; “His success is like an arrow to sky.”
When a person is going to die, but suddenly he is looked like a healthy person, we call him in a state of: “A reflection of light.”
When we meet some troubles and do not know what to do. But, among us, one man is very calm. We call him; “He had a solution in his mind already.”
When two boxers are fighting in the stage, both are so tired and no more strength to fight any more, we call: “The shooting power of this arrows is near the exhaustion.”
Somebody has been popular in the society, but he actually is a person of no ability, we call him: “Winning his fame by cheating.”
When we see a person stealing, we call him “thief’. But, in writing, we say: “A gentleman on the pillar.”
