Standard Chinese phrase always consists four characters, simple and clear, very practical to understand. If we can use one phrase in proper way, we can save a long sentence to describe the meaning which we wish to say. There is some example to be shown below:
If you cannot do something alone, you can say: “One pillar cannot support a house.”
If you do something wrong and wish to remedy, you can say: “I will repair the cage, not to let animals to run away any more.”
If somebody always say something, but never have action, you can say: “He is like flowers falling down from trees to the ground.”
If you decide to do things and shall never give up, you can say “Water will pierce through the stone.”
If a person works for public diligently, you can say: “He works too hard for public and forgets to do things for himself.”
If you want to advice somebody not to be greedy, you can say: “No greed is a treasure.”
If you have many unpleasant things in the past, you can say’ ‘Things in the past is sad to memorize.”
If you go into a department store and find so many varieties, you can say: ‘It confuses my eyes.”
If you want to stop boiling water, you can say: “Take away the wood from bottom of the pot.”
10. If you want to describe a poor family, you can say: “There is absolutely nothing at home.”
