Shakespeare

Shakespeare has been known to the world as a great famous play writer. He wrote thirty seven plays and many of them are familiar to the readers. In recent decade, one book store in New York translated Shakespeare old English into modern English. Now, even a school boy can read Shakespeare play without too many difficulties. They translated the following twenty three plays:
1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream 2. As You Like It 3. A Lover’s Complaint 4. Antony And Cleopatra 5. Coriolanus 6. Henry IV 7. Hamlet 8. Julius Caesar 9. King Lear 10. Macbeth 11. Much Ado About Nothing 12. Measure For Measure 13. Othello 14. Richard II 15. Richard III 16. Romeo And Juliet 17. The Comedy Of Errors 18. The Merchant Of Venice 19. The Two Gentlemen Of Verona 20. The Tempest 21. Twelfth Night Or What You Will 22. Taming Of The Shrew 23. The Winter’s Tale
Among these twenty three books, “Romeo And Juliet” and “Hamlet” are the most known to the world especially the Hamlet. When Hamlet is played in the London theater today, every night is full of audience. You have to book the ticket very much earlier before the show.
Other plays, such as “Julius Caesar” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” “Antony And Cleopatra” “Macbeth” “Merchant Of Venice” etc. are also popular.
Many people feel so difficult to read Shakespeare English which was the English of four hundred years ago in Victories time. But, if you read more times, you will find the beauty of Shakespeare English which is unique from today English.
