Misfortune

No one will like misfortune which is frightful in many ways, but in the course of our life, misfortune does come in some occasions unexpectedly.
But, think deeply, misfortune sometime bring us luck afterwards. This we can learn from an old Chinese man in ancient time. This man’s name was Choi. His philosophy was that when you met some misfortune, not to be too unhappy, it is that, in usual case, good luck will follow soon after.
The story happened at his home. One day, a horse ran away from Choi’s home. All family members were not happy about the run-away of the horse, but Choi kept a peaceful mind as nothing had happened.
Few days later, the escaped-horse came back together with another horse. All family members were so happy to have another horse, but Choi was still unmoved.
Not long after, Choi’s young son tried to ride the new horse, but fell down, with one leg broken. All family members were sad, but Choi kept silence.
Few weeks later, the country fought a war with another country and all the young men in the country were recruited for service to the army. Only Choi’s son was exempted because of his broken leg. Therefore, the conclusion is that misfortune and luck are mixed together in the course of our whole life.
