Enterprise Thirty Years

There was in Japan a book which pointed out that any enterprise run by one person could only last thirty years. After that period the enterprise would diminish from the commercial world.
It was that if the founder of the enterprise was not able to run his business, it would be bankrupt in three or four years, but if the enterprise could survive for ten years or more, it was surely a good enterprise.
However the good of enterprise was it would be weaker and weaker after thirty years. Reason was very simple. By the lapse of time, the owner was getting old and he would have no more energy to run his business as in the initial stage. Slowly and slowly, his competitors of young generation swallowed his business.
He might pass his enterprise to his next generation, son or daughter, but in the past statistics showed that only five per cent or so could continue the business. Most of them came to a fate of closure. It was all the same in Japan, China, and United States.
In China, we see enterprise of over one hundred years. It is only the name in surface. The owner who established the enterprise was already gone. It is the new owner who bought the enterprise to continue the business under its old name .
